Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Opphire ("we", "us", "our"), including our resume builder, ATS scorer, and job finder tools available at opphire.com.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service. By using Opphire, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Opphire provides the following tools:

• Resume Builder: a step-by-step tool to create, preview, and download professional resumes as PDFs.
• ATS Scorer: an AI-powered tool that analyses a resume image or PDF and provides an ATS compatibility score and improvement suggestions.
• Job Finder: a job search tool that queries third-party job listing APIs using a job title and location, and displays relevant listings.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

You can use the resume builder without creating an account. Creating an account is optional and unlocks features such as saving your resume progress. Accounts can be created using:

• Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)
• GitHub Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)

By connecting a Google or GitHub account, you authorise Opphire to access your basic profile information (name, email, and profile photo) as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Notify us immediately through our Contact Us page if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree not to use Opphire to:

• Upload or process content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or violates any third party's rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other user accounts, or any connected services.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the platform.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract content or job data from the service.
• Impersonate another person or entity in resumes or account registration.
• Upload malware, viruses, or any code designed to interfere with the service.
• Use the service in a manner that places excessive or unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice.

You own your content. The resume data, text, and files you enter into or upload to Opphire remain your property. We do not claim ownership over your resume content.

By using the service, you grant Opphire a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you — specifically to render, display, and generate PDF downloads of your resume, and to pass resume images to our AI scoring service.

We do not use your resume content to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose beyond operating the service.

The Opphire name, logo, platform design, resume templates, and all related software are owned by Opphire and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

The resume documents you create and download using Opphire are yours to use freely for personal job-seeking purposes.

Opphire integrates with third-party services to deliver its features. These include:

• Google and GitHub for optional single sign-on authentication.
• Google Analytics for usage analytics.
• Advance AI models for ATS resume scoring — receives only an image of the first page of your uploaded resume.
• Adzuna and FindWork.dev for job search results — receive only a job title and location string. Your resume content is never sent to these services.

Your use of these third-party services through Opphire is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Free plan: The core resume builder, PDF download, and job finder are available at no cost. We reserve the right to introduce limitations on the free plan in the future with reasonable advance notice to users.

Pro plan: Opphire offers a paid Pro plan that includes additional features such as the ATS Resume Score with personalised improvement tips, AI-tailored resumes, advanced job matching, and priority support. Pro plan subscriptions are billed monthly and managed through Polar.sh, our third-party payment processor.

Billing & payments: All payments are processed securely by Polar.sh. Opphire does not store your credit card or payment details. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you agree to Polar.sh's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate partial months.

Opphire is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
• Guarantees that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• Guarantees that ATS scores or improvement tips will result in job interview success or employment.
• Accuracy or completeness of job listings sourced from third-party APIs.

The ATS Scorer provides estimates based on AI analysis. Scores are indicative only and may not reflect the behaviour of any specific employer's ATS system.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Opphire and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the service.
• Any errors or inaccuracies in resume templates or ATS scoring.
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
• Any job application outcomes, employment decisions, or third-party employer actions.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Opphire in the twelve months prior to the claim (or $0 if you have not paid us anything).

By you: You may stop using Opphire at any time. If you have an account, you may request its deletion through our Contact Us page. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Opphire at our discretion if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email before terminating an account in good standing.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will do so.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which Opphire is registered.

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the Effective date at the top of this page.
• Notify registered users by email at least 14 days before changes take effect.
• For significant changes, require re-acceptance before continued use.

Your continued use of Opphire after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
