This Privacy Policy describes how Opphire ("Opphire", "we", "us", or "our"), operated at opphire.com, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our resume builder, ATS scorer, and job finder services.

By using Opphire, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information you provide directly:

• Resume content: name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and summary — entered through our resume builder.
• Account information: email address, name, and profile photo if you sign in via Google or GitHub SSO.
• Uploaded files: PDFs or images you upload to the ATS scorer feature.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, and interactions — collected via Google Analytics.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preferences.
• IP address: collected by our hosting infrastructure and Google Analytics for geographic analytics only.
• Cookies: session cookies for authentication, and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics.

Information we do NOT collect:

• Social security numbers, government IDs, or financial account details.
• Location beyond city/country level.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Opphire platform.
• Render your resume in the builder and generate PDF downloads.
• Analyse your uploaded resume for ATS compatibility scores and improvement suggestions via our AI service.
• Authenticate you when you sign in with Google or GitHub.
• Understand how users interact with our product so we can improve it (via Google Analytics).
• Respond to your support requests or questions.
• Send product updates or changes to this policy (only if you have an account).

We do not use your data to serve advertisements, build advertising profiles, or sell access to your information.

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate Opphire. Each receives only the minimum data required for their function:

Signing in with Google or GitHub is optional — you can use the resume builder without creating an account. When you choose to sign in:

• We receive your name, email address, and profile photo from the identity provider.
• We do not receive your Google or GitHub passwords.
• We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, GitHub repositories, or any other data beyond the basic profile scope.
• Your account with Opphire is linked to your OAuth identity. Revoking access via Google or GitHub's settings will disconnect your Opphire account.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Opphire — which features are used most, where users drop off, and how to improve the product. Google Analytics collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on each.
• Button clicks and feature interactions (anonymised event names).
• Your approximate location at the country/city level.
• Device type, browser, and OS.

We have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics. We do not use Google Analytics Advertising Features, and we do not use your analytics data for ad targeting.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.

When you use the job finder, we extract only a job title and location from your resume (or from what you type manually) and send that query to our job search API providers (Adzuna and FindWork.dev). No resume text, no personal contact details, and no file content is shared with these services.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With service providers listed above, strictly to operate our platform.
• If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Opphire or its users.
• In the event of a merger or acquisition, users will be notified before any transfer of personal data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your profile information is deleted within 30 days.
• Resume data stored on our servers is deleted within 30 days.
• Anonymised analytics data (not linked to you) may be retained for product analysis.
• Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.

Uploaded resume files sent to the ATS scorer are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the analysis request.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: request that we delete your personal data (right to be forgotten).
• Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: object to certain types of processing, including analytics.
• Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
• Secure, access-controlled infrastructure.
• OAuth 2.0 for authentication — we never store your SSO passwords.
• Regular security reviews of our codebase and dependencies.

No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Opphire is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at Contact Us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, if you have an account, notify you by email. Your continued use of Opphire after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
